Terms:

  • You must be available on site during the specified dates.
  • This is a volunteer position, but certain expenses, such as food, accommodation and travel, are covered by the FSF.
  • You must be fluent in english.
  • By participating in this event, you hereby consent to the use of your image in photographs, video recordings, and other media taken during the event for the purposes of promoting and communicating about the event. This may include use in press releases, promotional materials, and other publications associated with the event.
  • You may apply to more than one position, but will be appointed to only one position.

Business Plan Presentation crew full

Become a BPP Judge at FSF!
The Business Plan Presentation is a static event within Formula Student, where teams are tasked with presenting a profitable business venture based around their prototype race car. These presentations require in-depth financial projections, top level project management, and most importantly convincing presentation skills. With broad rules the BPP challenges teams to get creative and stand out from the crowd.

Your missions:

  • Listen carefully to participants’ business plan presentations.
  • Ask competitors relevant questions.
  • Analyze competitors’ business plans.

  • Teach competitors and give them relevant feedback.

Cost & Manufacturing crew full

We are looking for experienced judges for the “Cost and Manufacturing” section of the Formula Student France competition. The judge plays a crucial role in fairly and thoroughly evaluating the cost reports and manufacturing processes of participating teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate cost reports submitted by teams based on established competition criteria.
  • Inspect vehicles to ensure cost report compliance with the presented cars.
  • Ask technical questions to teams to clarify manufacturing methods and design choices.
  • Participate in judges’ meetings to discuss and align evaluations.
  • Provide constructive feedback to teams to help them improve their cost and manufacturing skills.

Required Qualifications:

  • Professional experience in manufacturing, mechanical engineering, or a related field.
  • Deep understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, and cost analysis.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and ask relevant questions.
  • Availability to participate in the Formula Student France event for the entire duration of the competition.
  • Proficiency in both spoken and written English is required.

Design Event

We are seeking passionate volunteer judges for the Design Event at the Formula Student France competition. Judges will be responsible for assessing the technical and innovative aspects of the vehicles designed by student teams.

Each jury will consist of:

  • 1 judge for mechanics / aero / chassis,
  • 1 judge for powertrain / HV / battery,
  • 1 judge for LV system / programming / driver interface,
  • 1 judge for vehicle performance / vehicle dynamics / testing,
  • 1 judge for project management / design to value / carbon footprint (macro engineering).

Responsibilities:

  • Review and evaluate the vehicle designs of participating teams.
  • Judge the creativity, innovation, and applicability of the designs based on the event criteria.
  • Question teams about their design choices and development processes.
  • Collaborate with other judges to ensure fair and consistent evaluation.
  • Provide constructive feedback to teams, contributing to their educational development.

Required Qualifications:

  • Experience in mechanical, automotive engineering, or a related field.
  • In-depth understanding of vehicle design and development principles.
  • Ability to critically and constructively evaluate.
  • Excellent communication skills in English and/or French.
  • Availability for the entire duration of the event.
  • Proficiency in both spoken and written English is required.
